About

Aroma Restaurant and Buffalo Bar sits in Fish Camp, just outside Yosemite, inside a restored historic building that reviewers describe as one of the oldest restaurants in the area. It has built a strong local reputation for confidently cooked steaks, lamb, and seafood, backed by a 4.5-star rating across 125 reviews.

What to Order

Regulars point to the rack of lamb and a widely praised ribeye — a generous cut reviewers say arrives perfectly cooked and is often shared between two people. The empanadas, served with a cilantro puree, make a popular starter, and the salmon draws its own praise. Save room for the bourbon toffee cake, and consider a stop at the bar first — the Old Fashioned gets specific mention from repeat visitors.

Good to Know

  • Open for dinner nightly except Tuesday, from 4 PM. Closing time is 9 PM Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and 10 PM Friday and Saturday.
  • Phone: (559) 683-6446
  • The building itself is part of the draw: reviewers mention new owners restoring this "historic little jewel," though the Buffalo Bar sign out front has left a few first-timers briefly unsure they had the right place.

Lyndsie the amazing bartender, Dawn and the Restaurant manager customer service skill set was over the top amazing! They welcomed us with open arms! Made the best gin and tonics …. Assisted us in our food choices and a side of history of the Narrow Gauge Inn.

My friends and I stopped here for dinner approximately an hour ago and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the rack of Lamb. They both got the pork chops and were equally impressed with the chef as well as the service provided. Our waitress was amazing, attentive and very outgoing. We had the carrot cake for dessert and the empanadas for the appetizer. We were extremely happy with everything we ordered.

Every part of my experience with this restaurant was excellent. I’m a bit of a foodie and can say with complete confidence that the entree I had (and my friends) were on par with some of the best restaurants at home in NYC. For an appetizer, we ordered the empanadas with a unique spin of puree of cilantro. I ordered the rack of lamb which was perfect temperature with a rosemary, clover, and flowers. This was the first time I had a rack of lamb with floral subtle tones. To the chef - great work! We all were impressed. The restaurant had a unique cozy atmosphere that we all loved. If you are staying anywhere in the area I highly recommend that you visit this hidden gem.

ok so we stopped here on a whim driving through ahwahnee and honestly it was way better than I expected. the buffalo burger was really good, juicy and cooked just right with a nice tangy sauce on it. theres this outdoor seating area that gives you a nice view of the hills, real peaceful vibe. only thing is the service was a little slow but our waitress was super friendly so it was fine. i’d come back again if im in the area, food hit the spot. maybe they could use a few more menu options though, felt like there was only about ten things to pick from.
