Thank you thank you! We had a great first stay, 3-4th coffee and bfest at El Mono Motel over July 3-5. Super Cute, amazing staff & food - everything is so so good - especially the Ginger Molasses cookies Cherry Coconut loaf, and the breakfast Egg sandwiches on homemade bread! Can’t go wrong with any of the latte’s or smoothies - made with care. We also stayed at the motel and even dared to book a room with the shared bathroom. Super easy and pretty clean. Small, simple, the necessities and nothing more. Very cute garden and flower with side yard/ courtyard for guests to sit, relax, read, and converse as the sun goes down, One suggestion for the rooms (atleast room 9), add a couple of hooks or a small bar near the sink in bedroom to hang towels and other things. We stayed 2 nights and that would be helpful! Also a robe for shared bathroom rooms would eventually be ideal and 2-3 hangers on an accordion style hanger for both towels and some clothes if unpacking. Since there isn’t much floor space it was nice to be able to put suitcases and stuff under the bed.

This motel was the best of our recent road trip. Indeed, it would be charming to find it on any trip anywhere. There were so many delightful aspects to the garden. There are sinks In the rooms, but I loved the outdoor faucet as evidently did others as several of us were brushing our teeth while walking around looking at the flowers. Everything comfortable inside, but if you are a person who prefers to be outside, this is the place for you. Pleasant neighborhood to walk around in. Enjoyed the interesting old mechanical implements in the park across the road. There were nice touches like having a baby bouncer on the porch. The shared bathroom spaces were easy to access and I always found them vacant. The café has really good scones. In general, I never order a scone, preferring my own to the usual rocks or worse, cookies, that go by that label. These were crunchy in just the right way. As for road noise that another reviewer referenced, oh you sweet summer child - you must never have stayed in a motel on an interstate, or a KOA next to a busy US highway. I actually heard no noise at all which is not to say there was none but I slept well, inItially with the window open until it got chilly. And as all the motels in this little town are arrayed along the same road, it would make no difference. There’s just not *that* much traffic heading into the park at night.
