About

Smokehouse 41 BBQ is a counter-serve barbecue spot in Oakhurst turning out smoked brisket, tri-tip, and ribs with enough care to earn a 4.6-star rating across more than 2,200 reviews. You order at the counter, they build your tray right there, and you carry it to a table yourself — paper cups, plastic utensils, and classic rock overhead. It's casual and it's popular, and on busy evenings the line starts before you'd expect.

What to Order

The smoked meats get top billing from reviewers — brisket and tri-tip lead the pack, with the ribs praised just as often for tenderness and flavor. A 2- or 3-meat combo is the easiest way to sample a few, or start the table with the Dirty Frites with Brisket. On the side, the mac and cheese, broccoli salad, and twice-baked potato casserole all show up repeatedly in reviews, and there's a rotating selection of craft beers to pair with your plate.

I went with the 3 meat platter: chicken, brisket and pulled pork. All three meats were tender, but the chicken was not quite fall off the bone tender. The smoke penetration was very subtle on all three. The mac n cheese was just average, but the beans were packed with meat and spice and pretty darn tasty.

When I called on the phone asking how long the wait would be for dine in/take out, they gave really long and poor explanations insinuating that I can go find out on my own and it will be first come first serve. I went. 40 mins wait. Really poor attitude. Take out and dine in are the same line. Misleading and a complete waste of time.
