Oakhurst's classic dive bar with free pool, popcorn, and a loyal following.
The Pines Bar is a no-frills neighborhood bar in Oakhurst, the kind of spot locals return to for cheap fun rather than polish. With a 4.4-star rating across 87 reviews, it has built a loyal following on free pool, free popcorn, and a laid-back dive-bar atmosphere rather than anything flashy.
Reviewers consistently call out the free pool table and free popcorn as reasons to keep coming back, and several mention the cocktail menu holding its own for a bar this casual — a mezcal negroni gets a specific nod. Cheap pizza next door makes it an easy pairing for a low-key night out. Service reports are mixed: many visitors describe warm, attentive bartenders who remember regulars, while a handful of reviews describe curt or inconsistent service, so expect the normal variability of a small-town dive bar rather than restaurant-level polish every visit.
Monday through Thursday it's open 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from noon to midnight, and Sunday noon to 10:00 PM.
It's primarily a bar with snacks like free popcorn rather than a kitchen menu; reviewers point to a pizza spot next door for a food pairing.
Yes — the free pool table, relaxed vibe, and 4.4-star rating from regulars make it a popular low-key spot in Oakhurst.

I had a very disappointing experience at The Pines Bar. When I walked in, I was asked to show my ID, which was not an issue. My wallet was in my car, and my cousin had the keys, so I simply tried to explain the situation. Unfortunately, I was repeatedly interrupted and not given the opportunity to explain myself. Throughout the interaction, the bartender maintained a negative attitude and seemed more interested in arguing than listening. She later claimed that I refused to show my ID, which was never the case. I fully understand and respect ID policies, and being asked for identification is something I deal with regularly without any problems. What made the experience even worse was the feeling that I was being treated poorly because I did not leave a tip after the negative interaction. Rather than addressing the situation professionally, I was told that I was only upset because I had been asked for my ID, which was completely untrue. I have no issue with businesses enforcing identification requirements, but customers should still be treated with respect and given a chance to communicate. Unfortunately, the poor customer service and unprofessional attitude left a very negative impression, and I do not plan on returning. Worst experience ever will not be returning if the same bar tender Jessie is there never had the same experience with the other bartenders

We were hopeful for this place based on the previous reviews but we got terrible service. In reality no service at all. We tried to get a beer and enjoy the soccer games but after 10 minutes we realized the bartender had no interest in serving us. She kept checking on people with drinks even though we had seats at the bar right in front of her. It was not busy, maybe 20 people in the whole place. We finally left, followed by another couple who also was trying to get drinks unsuccessfully.
