About

Yosemite Wine Tails is a small wine bar in Fish Camp built around small-production wines, with many bottles sourced from the local area. It carries a 4.9-star rating from 97 reviews, and the reviews consistently point to the same thing: an owner who knows the wine list cold and takes real time with each guest.

What to Expect

The tasting room pours wine alongside beer, cider, and mead, and staff are known for walking guests through unfamiliar bottles — including orange wine — based on what they already like to drink. A separate event space in back hosts local artists and occasional karaoke nights, but the wine bar itself runs as its own low-key space. Dogs are welcome, and visits can run long — one reviewer mentions staying four-plus hours here without planning to, and another advises budgeting time to linger since it's easy to lose track of the clock.

Hours & Details

  • Hours: Friday–Saturday 3–10 PM, Sunday noon–5 PM. Closed Monday–Thursday.
  • Price level: $$ (moderate)
  • Phone: (559) 641-6400

Because it's only open Friday through Sunday, it's worth timing a Fish Camp stop around those days — reviewers often mention buying bottles here before heading into Yosemite to camp.

A fantastic shop to have a glass of wine or to buy bottles. Specializes in small producers with many from the local area. Great knowledge, friendly. Do yourself a favor and stop in. We bought our wine here before heading to Yosemite for camping. Highly recommended!

Very cool spot. Great prices on some unique wines. Collette is an absolute gem, she made us feel like we were immediate regulars, welcomed us right in. Highly recommend for wine, beer, cider, mead, whatever you're into, the atmosphere and company is amazing. Great opportunity to mingle with some locals.
