About

Ahwahnee Hills Regional Park is a 400-acre oak woodland property in Fish Camp, built around a roughly 3-mile loop trail with only minor elevation changes — an easy walk rather than a workout. It draws a light, local crowd rather than tour-bus traffic, with a small pond along the way and restrooms kept clean both on the path and near the water.

The Loop

The full loop takes about an hour to walk at a relaxed pace. The grade stays gentle throughout, making it a comfortable option for families, older visitors, or anyone who wants a walk without route-finding or steep climbs. It's also a well-liked spot for walking dogs.

Layers of History

The grounds carry traces of the area's Native American history, its Gold Rush-era past, and more recent local history, adding some texture to what would otherwise be a simple woodland walk.

Really happy after visiting this place, it honestly made my whole day better. The trails are wellmaintained and there is something calming about walking through the oak trees, I felt like I coud just keep going deeper into the woods and never worry about anything. Had a nice picnic with my freind by the creek, the sound of running water was perfect for just sitting and relaxing. The parking lot is pretty basic but its not a big deal, the park itself more than makes up for any minor inconvience. We lost track of teh time up there and almost stayed until sunset, even forgot about work for a few hours which was exactly what I needed. I would definately go back tommorrow if I could.

ok so we decided to split because there were fire ants right by the picnic tables which soured the whole vibe, but otherwise a great park with beautiful trees and lots of trails

Great place for an easy, 3 mile loop. Only small elevation changes. Restrooms along the path and near the pond were clean.
