In general I like public swimming pools, and we have similar facilities in Germany. The admission fee of only $2 for one adult and one child - altogether $ 4 - was very reasonable. However, there were a few things that made our visit less enjoyable. When we arrived at around 2:00 p.m., I specifically asked a staff member what time the pool would close. I was told it would be open until 5:00 p.m. Unfortunately, at 3:00 p.m., everyone was asked to leave the pool for 30 minutes because it needed to be cleaned. It would have been helpful if we had been informed about this when we arrived so we could have planned accordingly. There was also a large summer camp using the pool that afternoon. The small grassy area became extremely crowded, making it difficult to find a place to relax. The children from that summer camp were jumping from the pool edge, throwing ice cubes at each other, and generally behaving quite wildly, while the staff seemed to simply watch without intervening. This made the atmosphere rather uncomfortable for other visitors. The biggest disappointment, however, was the snack bar. I ordered a burrito, and the employee opened the packaging using her teeth before heating it in the microwave. I found this very unhygienic and quite off-putting. Overall, the pool itself is a nice and affordable community facility, but I believe better communication, supervision, and hygiene would greatly improve the experience.
