Guided Polaris side-by-side rentals through Groveland's backcountry trails
Yosemite Outdoor Adventures rents Polaris side-by-sides for guided runs through the backcountry trails above Groveland, on the western approach to Yosemite. The outfit holds a 5-star rating across 40 reviews, with riders consistently praising the condition of the machines and how well the routes are mapped for different comfort levels.
The side-by-sides seat up to three, including a child seat, and run a speed-capped route that reviewers put around 20 mph. The trail winds through private backcountry where cattle and horses roam, wild berries line the road, and a small waterfall shows up along the way. The ground gets steep in places, but one reviewer who described themselves as nervous about off-roading and heights said the pace still felt manageable throughout. Riders chasing a faster, more aggressive off-road run may find it tame by comparison.
Yosemite Outdoor Adventures is open daily from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Reviewers describe the booking process as easy, with confirmation emails, directions, and on-site signage that make the location simple to find, plus staff willing to work around last-minute timing changes. Call (209) 352-9950 to check availability.

We had a great experience renting a UTV here. While the UTVs are limited to 20 mph, that didn’t take away from the experience at all. The scenery is incredible, and we spent the day exploring the trails, then packed a lunch and enjoyed a picnic at one of the amazing overlooks. The owner was friendly, helpful, and on time for both pickup and drop-off. You can tell this is a small family-run business that genuinely cares about its customers and wants everyone to have a great experience. If you’re looking for a fun way to explore the Yosemite area and support a local family business, I’d definitely recommend renting from them. We’d happily do it again.

Went with my husband and two preteen boys. The renting online was easy. The owner was friendly, very helpful as well as accommodating. (We were late coming back to turn in the side by side) We took the last tour possible. It was gorgeous and golden hour was spectacular! This is the owner‘s personal property and so they have cattle roaming around, which was fun to see. Blackberry bushes for berry picking in season, late summer. Small waterfalls and creeks line the trail. The views and cliffs were absolutely striking! The three hour trail is mapped out precisely and while you can get out and stop wherever you’d like, three hours is not enough time to do the entire trail with leisurely stops. But like I said, the owner is very accommodating. There is no place to stop to swim, but the Polaris ATV was clean, new, had GPS, air and heat. You can roll down the windows as well as lift the windshield for the breeze in your face! The ATV is well equipped to carry your baggage in the back (it will get dusty in the bed of the vehicle so bring something you don’t mind getting dirty). Overall it was well worth the money, for an individual experience alone with your group! My boys will remember this forever!
