Grizzly Pass

Grizzly Pass is a short multi-use trail in the Sierra National Forest near Fish Camp, running about 2.2 miles between two forest road junctions south of Yosemite's Wawona entrance. It's managed by the Bass Lake Ranger District and open to foot, bicycle, and horse traffic — a working forest route rather than a scenic showcase, and a flexible option if you want to get off pavement on two wheels, on foot, or in the saddle.

Route and access

The trail connects two forest road junctions off Sky Ranch Road, which branches from Highway 41 north of Oakhurst and climbs into the forest north of Bass Lake. There's no developed trailhead here — no parking lot or interpretive signage like you'd find inside the national park. Fish Camp sits a short drive away, making this a reasonable add-on if you're already staying in the area for Yosemite's south entrance.

Good to know before you go

• Open to hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians — it isn't restricted to foot traffic only
• The tread is natural ground, with no facilities, water, or signage along the route
• It sits on Sierra National Forest land, not inside Yosemite National Park boundaries
