Right Meadow Trail

Right Meadow Trail pairs with neighboring Left Meadow Trail to form a short loop tucked behind Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite in Fish Camp, a couple of miles from Yosemite's South Entrance. This isn't a destination hike — it's a low-key forest stroll along a stretch of Big Creek, the kind of route you'd walk before dinner or as a leg-stretcher on the drive in or out of the park.

What You'll See

The path stays mostly flat and shaded under mixed conifer forest, tracing Big Creek for part of the loop. In spring and early summer, the creek banks fill in with wildflowers — snow plant, western azalea, pussypaws, and western blue flag iris all show up along this stretch. It's also a solid pick for casual birding, and given how few other hikers use it, you'll likely have the woods to yourself.

Before You Go

• Distance: about 1.3 miles as a loop, roughly 30-40 minutes at an easy pace.
• Difficulty: easy, with minimal elevation change.
• Trailhead: behind Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite. Multiple hikers report it's easy to walk right past — confirm the start with the lodge or a trail-mapping app rather than looking for a signed lot.
• Dogs: allowed on leash.
• Trail condition: lightly maintained; downed limbs and storm debris have shown up in past seasons, so wear real shoes and expect to step over some deadfall.
