Simple, recently updated rooms on Lee Vining's main street near Tioga Pass
Lee Vining Motel sits right on the main street of Lee Vining, an easy walk to local restaurants and coffee shops and a short drive from Yosemite's Tioga Pass entrance, Mono Lake, and the Bodie ghost town. Guests describe it as an old-school motel that's been nicely renovated — clean rooms, updated bathrooms with spacious showers, and comfortable beds — at a fair price for the location. It holds a 3.9-star rating from 69 reviews.
Being on Lee Vining's main strip means restaurants and coffee shops are a short walk away, and one guest noted reaching Tioga Pass was easy from here, though the pass can close without much warning even in early fall, so check conditions before you rely on it. Mammoth Lakes and Convict Lake are roughly a half-hour drive south, and Mono Lake is close enough that one guest had a view of it from their window.
It varies by room — some guests reported a window AC unit, while others noted no AC or fans, so ask about this when booking if it matters to you.
It's right on Lee Vining's main street, a short drive from Yosemite's eastern entrance at Tioga Pass.
Rooms include a microwave, fridge, and a large ice machine for basic self-catering, though not a full kitchen.

The hotel itself was okay, but I strongly recommend avoiding Room 1 and any rooms facing the street. While you do get a bed, getting any actual sleep is another matter. The room is located practically right on the road, and it feels like a truck thunders past every 30 seconds throughout the night. The vibrations are so intense that the entire room shakes each time a heavy vehicle passes. As a result, sleeping was nearly impossible. If you stay here, make sure to request a room away from the street.
