Straightforward Mariposa hotel with kitchen suites, a pool, and free breakfast

(791)
Mariposa, CA

About

The Quality Inn Yosemite Valley Gateway is a straightforward, budget-oriented hotel in Mariposa — a small foothill town guests describe as close to and easily accessible from Yosemite. It keeps things simple: clean rooms, a handful of kitchen suites, an outdoor pool, and breakfast included in the rate, with RV parking and WiFi covering the practical side of a park trip.

Rooms and Amenities

Beyond standard rooms, the property has kitchen suites that reviewers note can work as two adjoining rooms — each with its own queen bed and bathroom — a useful option for families or groups who want some separation without booking two full reservations. Ask when you call, since availability on these specific rooms is limited. The hotel also includes an outdoor pool, free breakfast (waffle station, bagels, yogurt, and cereal), RV parking, and WiFi throughout.

Using It as a Yosemite Base

Guests consistently describe Mariposa itself as an easy, scenic stop close to the park, making this a practical choice if you're doing a single day inside Yosemite or want a lower-cost alternative to lodging directly in the Valley. Recent reviewers also mention string lights around the pool area and note the hotel has changed ownership, with several calling out friendlier service since.

What to Expect

The hotel holds a 3.7-star rating across 787 reviews. Most guests describe it as a reliable, no-frills place to sleep before an early start into the park, though a few reviews flag inconsistent maintenance (hot water, AC) in specific rooms — worth reporting to the front desk right away if it comes up. Call (209) 248-4856 to ask about suite availability or RV parking before you book.

Mixed feelings with this place, getting to Yosemite was convenient. Breakfast was a complete joke, the room was questionable with the dirty bathroom and moldy smell in the sleeping area. Good luck travelers

I stayed at Quality inn for 6 nights, the rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. The photos of the exterior posted do not do this quaint, family friendly, traditional escape out of town yet still feel at home inn justice. The views are of hills and trees, walk to mom and pop shops and dining. Only suggestions: mirrors at corners to see whos coming around the corners and love the homemade cookies but as a gift for the safe traveling as guests check out, punch a hole in the bag and use a small twisty tie with a thank you for staying with us, can't wait to see you again and please leave us a Google review. Just a small gesture.
