We took our very first rafting trip on July 13th. Our guide was Stephen... It was the best experience ever! It was an all day trip that included an awesome lunch, conversations with people from across the country, and had guides we knew we were in the best hands ever. We even had a photographer at certain check points that captured every grinning face! We will definitely do it again. The only thing I would change... I'll be getting in the front next time! 😁

We did Cherry Creek and the upper Tuolumne, July of '26. The reservation process was super easy, Tom was very proactive with communication leading up to the trip. Day of was great, the restrooms / showers at the outfitters are nice and clean, the staff is super friendly and overall the trip was well thought out and the guides were very proficient. Would definitely go back

Sierra Mac River Trips is hands down excellent(the best) on multiple levels. I first discovered this company by Googling them back in 2013. As a thrill junkie at the time, I was looking for an adrenaline-pumping, high-octane adventure, and Cherry Creek was it. The reviews back then led me to contact Sierra Mac. I had a great experience with them, and Cherry Creek was nothing short of my expectations—and then some. It was a life-changing bucket list experience. Since then, I’ve gone on more trips with them, including one on the Main Tuolumne a few years ago and just two days ago, taking my daughter. The Main Tuolumne is a great river for a child who wants a good experience and a bit of adventure with a qualified adult. Our recent rafting trip was absolutely five-star, not just for the great river, the drops, and the adventure, but also for the experience with my daughter, which we will remember for many years to come. Sierra Mac covers every single logistical detail you can think of. When you sign up with them, they provide everything you need to know—what to bring, what to plan for, what to expect—leaving no questions about logistics. It's all laid out on their website. Marty McDonnell, the owner, has been rafting this river since the 70s and knows it like the back of his hand. He is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. When you call this company, you get a person, which is fantastic in itself. Taking my daughter on this river just two days ago was a wonderful experience. She was a bit apprehensive about doing Class 4 rapids, but everyone at Sierra Mac made her feel so warm and comfortable. As soon as she got on the water, she was having a blast. She kept thanking me on the way home, saying how much she loved our river guide, Stephen. Stephen, in my opinion, went out of his way to ensure my daughter had an amazing experience. He patiently answered all her questions along the river, from whether there were snakes in the water to which direction we should go on the next rapid. His kindness and attentiveness made the trip truly special for her. Beyond the exceptional customer service, which deserves six out of five stars, we experienced adrenaline-pumping rapids that were still appropriate for kids, met wonderful people on the raft, and felt safe the entire time. We even got to jump off a 15-foot rock safely with life jackets and saw a bald eagle—something my daughter had never seen before. I cannot say enough good things about Marty McDonnell, his son Tom, who helps run the company, and our guide Stephen. I look forward to many more great adventures with Sierra Mac and am grateful for the incredible experiences they have provided. Thank you for making our trips unforgettable! Update – 7/14/2026 I decided to take on Cherry Creek again, and it was every bit as incredible as I remembered. I've now used this rafting company several times, and they truly are the crème de la crème of rafting outfitters. Cherry Creek absolutely did not disappoint. Saturday, July 11th was an epic day on the water with big rapids, great energy, and an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Cermak and the entire crew once again knocked it out of the park. Great people, outstanding guides, and a first-class operation. If you're looking for the ultimate adventure in Yosemite, this is it. Without question, it's the best adventure Yosemite has to offer.

Some friends and I ran the Cherry Creek/Upper Tuolomne trip with Sierra Mac, and it was insanely fun. Brandon, our guide, made sure we never spilled out as we crashed through some big rapids. This is the most technical whitewater we've ever rafted, but the Sierra Mac team has it down. They could probably run it in their sleep. Tom runs a great outfit here. You are absolutely getting what you pay for with these guys.
