About

The Oakhurst Inn at Yosemite is a budget motel in Oakhurst, sitting along the Highway 41 corridor that leads up to Yosemite's South Entrance. With 561 reviews and a 3.9-star rating, it's a genuinely mixed bag: plenty of guests call it a comfortable, no-fuss overnight stop before or after a day in the park, while others found the rooms tired. Worth knowing what to expect going in.

What guests say

The recurring praise is friendly, efficient front-desk staff, a filling breakfast, and quiet rooms with plenty of parking. One traveler booked 13 rooms for a group and reported an easy check-in for everyone; a solo motorcyclist arriving after a 572-mile ride called the room spacious and spotless. On the flip side, some guests describe the rooms as dated or musty, and at least one stay was disappointing enough that the guest requested a refund. It's worth skimming a handful of recent reviews before booking if room presentation matters to you.

Location

Multiple reviewers note the convenience of the spot: restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance, a supermarket nearby, and South Gate Brewing Co. close enough to walk to for food and a beer after a day of hiking.

The rooms are a bit dated, but clean – as is the entire property. The breakfast was good, as is typical for American cuisine, and the location near Yosemite National Park is superb.

About 45 minutes on a windy road to Yosemite. Staff was good, especially the evening crew. A lady in the morning was a bit continkerous, but we came back later. And everything was fine. The room was clean. We stayed there for a few days. Nice and cool the weather was beautiful. All in all, it was in the middle of everything. And I would definitely go back again. If we went to go see Yosemite, or actually get a place inside the Yosemite. Park, which is closer? So I wouldn't have to go around their windy roads. But eventually, we found a different way to go, and it was quicker. We still had. some windy roads

The rooms were reasonably clean, but overall just not that great. Walls were quite thin, the AC was louder than I would have liked (although it did work well), and the shower water pressure was abysmal. This was probably one of the cheapest options available, and is okay if you're staying just 1 or 2 nights, but any longer and you would be better off with a more established chain.
