About

Tree House Lodge is a treehouse-style stay in El Portal, just outside Yosemite National Park. Guests consistently point to the balcony as the highlight — a good spot to watch the sunset over the surrounding forest — and describe the setting as a proper "forest campout" experience rather than a typical hotel stay. It holds a 4.3-star rating from guest reviews.

What Guests Say

Reviewers call it a cozy, memorable place to stay with a view worth the trip. The lodge is genuinely remote: multiple reviews note that the nearest store is more than 30 minutes away and that there are no restaurants or grocery stores close by, so guests should plan to bring their own food and supplies for the stay. One reviewer flagged inconsistent communication from the property, so it's worth confirming check-in details directly with the lodge ahead of arrival.

Location-wise, the balcony is a great place to see the sunset. There is ONE tree that if it was trimmed would make a crazzzzy sight but still cool view regardless. Cozy spot for sure. Make sure you have PLENTY of your supplies because the closest store is 30+ mins away from the treehouse one way.

I’d give zero stars for communication if that was an option. Place was adequate, but the lack of communication was appealing and unprofessional.
