Great gear shop right outside of the Big Oak entrance of Yosemite. Lots of solid selections for things to pick up before heading in or for souvenirs on the way out! Good prices too with everything you need for camping and backcountry adventures while shopping small and supporting the community.

This is my second visit. I stayed in a different room, but I was expecting the bunk bed style from last time, so I was a bit disappointed with this room. It is a studio-style room on the first floor with three bunk beds. The bathroom felt like it was forcibly put together, and the sink was way too high. At 163 cm tall, it was too high for me to even stand on my tiptoes, so I could barely wash my face. The toilet and bathroom are separate, which is also a bit inconvenient. There is no dining table for everyone to sit and eat at, and I wish the sofa table were a bit wider; it felt a bit cramped even for two people. Maybe it was because we stayed on a rainy day, but as soon as we entered, there was a musty smell and a dog odor, so I had a headache that evening and had a hard time. The smell improved a bit after running the heater all day. If you have made a reservation, please make sure to check your check-in email. We didn't receive it, so we had to get it after arriving at the room and then check in. It was such a relief that the staff member was right before closing time.

This place was absolutely the best rental I have ever stayed in. We were there for 4 days and 3 nights. Never had a single need or want unmet. The staff are extremely professional yet friendly. The accommodations were twice what we expected. Free parking and breakfast. And to top it all off, the visitor's center has more knowledge about the trails and tours than the park service does. They get 6 stars out of 5!
